I’m getting all teary-eyed here. By Crom, we’ve done this much crap!?!
Over the course of the last 6 years we’ve done 5 mini-comics, 4 full-sized self-published comic books,
6 comics from Slave Labor and numerous appearances in anthologies you’ve never heard of! I never dreamed
that back in the halcyon days of 1994, sitting in Ty’s room and saying things like "What if we had a story
where the clones of Dick Sergeant battle the clones of Dick York?" would eventually spawn the madness that is Oddjob.
I know it doesn’t show when you read the book, but Ty and I actually spent a great deal of time developing Moe.
In the early, early drawings, notice the hair... Ty didn’t like drawing hair, nor eyes, hence the whacked out hair and goggles.
Moe originally had really crazy hair. We had whole storylines revolving around his locks. But one day, suddenly,
Ty wouldn’t draw it that way anymore. I never found out why. Something to do with Jack Lord, maybe... Notice the
Ben Edlund Tick influence as well.
After we came up with an idea and some characters, we tried our hand at sequential art, which was a long slow,
process to figure out. |

The first ever drawing of Moe... After I drew him, I told Ian to come up with a story for him... (circa 1993) |
